a type I transmembrane protein found on T cells that forms the signal transduction unit for the T cell; expressed in patients with T-cell lymphomas.
CD3 T3 A complex of 5 invariable polypeptide chains, which are part of a larger complex that includes the T cell receptor; CD3 is 'pan-T' cell antigen–ie, present on most mature T cells–60-85% of peripheral T cells, 20-85% of thymocytes. See Pan-T cell markers.
