ICAM4A gene on chromosome 19p13.3-p13.2 that encodes the Landsteiner-Wiener blood group antigen, which belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and shares similarity with the intercellular adhesion molecule protein family. This ICAM contains 2 Ig-like C2-type domains and binds to the leukocyte adhesion LFA-1 protein.
