IL2RG

A gene on chromosome Xq13.1 that encodes the gamma subunit of interleukin-2 (IL-2) receptor, which forms a heterotrimer with alpha and gamma subunits resulting in a high-affinity IL-2 receptor. The gamma chain is an important signalling component of many IL receptors, including those of IL-2, IL-4, IL-7 and IL-21, and is thus referred to as the common gamma chain.

Molecular pathology
Defects in IL2RG cause X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency (XSCID), as well as the less severe X-linked combined immunodeficiency (XCID).

The [beta]-(CD122) and [gamma]- (CD132) chains are overexpressive and common for CD25 and IL-15R[alpha]; however, CD25 is absent in those cells.
This effect of IL-2 is mediated through the IL-2 receptor which consists of the common y-chain (CD132), a [beta]-chain (CD122), and an a-chain (CD25) [22, 24].
There are three different subunits of the IL-2r: [alpha]-chain (CD25), [beta]-chain (CD122), and [gamma]-chain (CD132, constitutively expressed by all lymphoid cells) [15-17].
Increased plasma interleukin-7 level correlates with decreased CD127 and Increased CD132 extracellular expression on T cell subsets in patients with HIV-1 infection.
(16) In conclusion, our data indicate that the expansion of [CD56.sup.bright] NK cells follows functional blocking of IL-2 consumption by activated T-cells, on which the high affinity receptor complex (a/[beta]/[gamma] IL-2R; CD25, CD122, CD132) is blocked, whereas the intermediate affinity IL-2R complex on NK cells (ff/y IL-2R) is not affected.
"Now you can jump into a Focus or the new CD132 Mondeo in Europe, or the Escape in the U.S., and feel the same steering characteristics," notes Bakaj, whom Parry-Jones brought to the U.S.
"When I first drove an Escape, I was impressed by how similar it felt to the CD132 that I'd been developing in parallel in Europe.

Interleukin-2 receptor subunit gamma (IL2RG), also called the common gamma chain ([gamma]c), or CD132, is an essential component of interleukin signaling involving IL-7, IL-2, IL-4, IL-9, IL-15, and IL-21.
CD132 was right in the ballpark in terms of hard points and offered a significant upside on cost; the downside was that it was FWD.
Ford, which undertook a similar review of its European operations in early 2000, is still expected to slow line rates at Genk, where two of its freshest models, Mondeo (CD132) and the Transit commercial van, are built.
