Bureau of Drug Policy and AdministrationAn agency of China’s Ministry of Public Health, which implemented China's Drug Administration Act and regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing, distribution, sales and advertising; it additionally approved domestic and imported drugs and biologics, and formulated and issued national drug standards. Along with the State Pharmaceutical Administration of China and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (formerly responsible for regulating traditional Chinese medince), the BDPA was consolidated in 1998 into the State Drug Administration, China’s equivalent of the US FDA.
