Echinacea purpurea

(pŭr-pūr′ēă, poor′)
A native American perennial herb (purple coneflower) of the family Compositae. Its root and leaf extracts are promoted both for their effects on wound healing and for their impact on the treatment and prevention of respiratory infections.
