Bowman’s theory

Bowman’s theory

A naïve theory of urine formation formulated by Sir W Bowman (1816–1892), which held that water and salt were passively filtered and separated from the plasma in the glomeruli, and urea and other constituents of urine were secreted into the renal tubular epithelium.
