biotinylation(redirected from Biotin marker)
biotinylationThe covalent linking of biotin to a protein, peptide, nucleic acid (DNA, RNA) or other biomolecule of interest, which in turn binds with high affinity to avidin or streptavidin linked to an enzymatic moiety or fluorescent molecule. Biotinylation is used in detector systems and to isolate biotinylated biomolecules of interest.
