Baumès law
A rule based on a primitive understanding of syphilis, which held that a child with congenital syphilis could not transmit syphilis to his mother; while this is technically correct (as the mother is already infected), it is unrelated to any form of immune defence.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc.
