BLEED Classification
BLEED is a mnemonic for the variables used to predict outcome:
• BLeeding—ongoing low systolic BP
• Elevated prothrombin time
• Erratic mental status
• Disease—unstable comorbid disease; in retrospective studies, patients meeting one or more BLEED criteria were classified as high-risk and were found to have had a increased incidence of complications
