B3

An abbreviation commonly used by histopathologists in the UK for a  diagnostic spectrum of lesions for which future behaviour cannot be assessed. Simplistically, B3 = equivocal/atypia—i.e., neither benign (B2) nor frankly malignant (B5).

B3 pathologies
Atypical ductal hyperplasia, atypical lobular hyperplasia, columnar cell change with hyperplasia or atypia, intraductal papilloma.
