Discussing the Saudi market, the official said Bahrain Atomisers has supplied to a new chemical plant in Jubail but not on a regular basis as it is still in the commissioning stage.
In Japan where the steel industry has declined drastically with a consequent reduction in refractories, there are other segments that are doing well for which Bahrain Atomisers can supply its product, McLaughlin said.
It is possible industries in decline could develop niche products that may need aluminium powder, thereby boosting business for companies like Bahrain Atomisers, said McLaughlin.
"The robot has the longest reach in its class with excellent path accuracy and is combined with the ABB RB1000 electrostatic bell atomiser to achieve an even distribution of paint over the surface of the car, achieving consistent high finish quality and minimising the amount of paint required."
Adverse market conditions stemming from the Euro zone debt crisis and sluggish economic growth in many countries as well as issues relating to the purity level meant the company could not export higher volumes, Bahrain Atomisers general manager Tim McLaughlin told Gulf Industry.
Until two years ago it offered 99.9 per cent purity in its powders and pellets but Alba, the source of Bahrain Atomisers' raw material, is now producing liquid metal at a reduced purity level of 99.7 per cent.

Bahrain Atomisers International general manager Tim McLaughlin says the new plants would need about 30,000 tonnes of aluminium powder if all projects made the transition from proposal to reality.
