AMISAspirin in Myocardial Infarction Study. An early clinical trial that assessed the use of aspirin (1 g/day) in patients with documented acute myocardial infaction (MI).
Conclusion GI irritation occurred in 24% of aspirin patients and 15% of placebo patients; the authors did not endorse the routine use of aspirin post-MI.
