Aschoff bodyA small granulomatous lesion composed of macrophages, lymphocytes and multinucleated giant cells, which surrounds pale eosinophilic collagenous material, classically seen in rheumatic fever-related myocarditis.

One of microscopic foci of fibrinoid degeneration and granulomatous inflammation found in the interstitial tissues of the heart in rheumatic fever.
