ARTS
Arterial Revascularization Therapy Study. A trial comparing CABG and percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) in patients with multivessel coronary artery disease. Conclusion 1 year post-procedure, stenting for multivessel disease is less expensive than bypass surgery, with the same protection against death, stroke, and myocardial infarction.
Cons There was a greater need for repeated procedures due to intrastent revascularisation in stented patients.
