Alexander-Adams operation

(al″ek-san′dĕr-ad′ămz)
[William Alexander, Brit. surgeon, 1844–1919; James A. Adams, Scottish gynecologist, 1857–1930]
Surgery in which the round ligaments of the uterus are shortened and their ends sutured to the exterior abdominal ring. It is used in treating uterine displacement.
