Age Sex Factor

A factor used in health insurance underwriting which shifts the risk of medical costs of one group relative to another; an age/sex factor  of greater than 1.00 indicates higher than average risk of medical costs due to that factor; a factor of less than 1.00 indicates a lower than average risk.
