A trial studying the safety and efficacy of pentoxifylline and/or acenocoumarol in treating intermittent claudication associated with chronic occlusive arterial disease.Conclusion Pentoxifylline is safe and effective for treating intermittent claudication; the benefits of oral anticoagulant therapy are outweighed by the risk of serious bleeding; the risk of bleeding is probably increased by combined treatment.
