Like the existing Johnson Unit, the new facility will provide inpatient and outpatient behavioral health care, including support for people in acute psychiatric crisis. The expansion won't increase the number of beds, but it will more than double the number of secure rooms for the most fragile, acute patients and increase the unit's size by a third.
