Because ITPN shows less aggressive behavior than other pancreatic malignancies, it is important to differentiate it from other malignancies, including IPMN, pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), and the intraductal variant of
acinar cell carcinoma. (6) In this review, we highlight the clinical features and histopathologic characteristics as well as distinct immunohistochemical and molecular profiles of this tumor.
On the other hand, the solid pseudopapillary neoplasm, serous cystic neoplasm (solid type),
acinar cell carcinoma, endocrine tumor, and metastatic tumor of the pancreas are detected as hypovascular tumors.
Pancreatic
acinar cell carcinoma (PACC) is a rare tumor that accounts for approximately 1% of malignant pancreatic neoplasms [1].
The next most common type,
acinar cell carcinoma of the pancreas, arises in the clusters of the cells that produces these enzymes, and represents 5% of exocrine cancers.
The final diagnoses of the lesions were as follows: PC (n = 109);
acinar cell carcinoma (n = 2); inflammatory mass (n = 11); neuroendocrine tumor (NET) (n = 8); AIP (n = 9); invasive intraductal papillary mucinous carcinoma (IPMC) (n = 5); metastatic lesions (n = 2: lung cancer 1, melanoma 1); and intraductal tubular tumor (ITT) (n = 1) (Table 1).
Acinar cell carcinoma of the pancreas (ACC) is a rare malignant epithelial tumor representing 1-2% of all exocrine pancreatic neoplasms [1].
(8) Other differentials include pancreatoblastoma and
acinar cell carcinoma which can be distinguished by their clinical and morphoimmunophenotypic characteristics.

Histological results were consistent with a pure
acinar cell carcinoma. After discussion at a multidisciplinary oncology clinic, he was placed on a trial of gemcitabine-based chemotherapy.
The incidences of
acinar cell carcinoma and adenoma or carcinoma (combined) exceeded those within the historical control range (overall incidence of acinar cell adenoma, 1 of 207 or 0.5%, range 0-2%; overall incidence of
acinar cell carcinoma, 0%).
