Achúcarro stainA rarely used histologic stain for astrocytes in nervous tissue that uses tannin and diamine silver hydroxide. The currently preferred astrocyte stains is Cajal's gold sublimate method; less commonly, globus method, PTAH stain, and Hortega's lithium carbonate method.
