N- acetylgalactosamine

/N- ac·e·tyl·ga·lac·to·sa·mine/ (as″ĕ-til-) (as″ĕ-tēl-gal″ak-tōs´ah-mēn) the acetyl derivative of galactosamine; it is a component of structural glycosaminoglycans, glycolipids, and membrane glycoproteins.
