Academic Foundation Post
Academic Foundation PostA post (job) for new graduates of medical school in the UK which is nearly identical to the “bog standard” Foundation years 1 and 2 (FY1 and FY2), which differs in its second year (AF2) by providing the junior doctor/trainee with 4 months of protected research time. The programme is thought to help recruit prospective academics at an early point in their careers, engage them in academics and expose them to research methodology and academicians during their formative years of training.
