DHX8(redirected from ATP-dependent RNA helicase DHX8)
DHX8A gene on chromosome 17q21.31 that encodes a protein which contains a conserved Asp-Glu-Ala-His (DEAH) motif and acts as an ATP-dependent RNA helicase. It plays a role in various cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure, such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly.
