ABCB5 (redirected from ATP-binding cassette protein)
ABCB5 A gene on chromosome 7p21.1 that encodes an ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily of integral membrane proteins, which participates in ATP-dependent transmembrane transport of a range from small ions, sugars and peptides to complex biomolecules.
The ABCB5 protein product is responsible for the doxorubicin resistance in some malignant melanomas.
