ATACS

(1) A trial that compared aspirin + anticoagulation vs aspirin alone, when added to conventional antianginal therapy, in cardiac mortality and morbidity in nonprior aspirin users with unstable rest angina or non-Q-wave infarction.
Conclusion Combination anticoagulation plus aspirin reduces recurrent ischemia in high-risk patients with a slight increased risk of bleeding.
(2) A trial comparing 2 formulations of aspirin in preventing recurrent angina.
Conclusion Prostacyclin-sparing controlled release is no better than conventional aspirin.
