In the emergency simulation of the Russian segment in ISS,
astronauts successfully passed the test of the failure of communications device, the oxygen supply system, power outages, the failure of fire detection systems, and how to deal with emergency situations.
Then there's the tilting table to prepare the
astronaut to adapt to weightlessness - the table is tilted to negative (-15 degrees for 6 minutes and -40 degrees for another 6 minutes) and it is titled to positive to mimic re-entry.
The
astronauts completed around 30 hours of theoretical and practical training, supervised by a group of ESA specialists, focusing on the equipment and systems in the European unit of the ISS, such as the life support system that ensures the survival of
astronauts in the ISS.
Under the supervision of researchers and trainers from ESA, the two
astronauts were trained on the scientific experiments the UAE
astronaut will be working on during his time onboard.
The UAE
Astronaut Programme is funded by the ICT fund of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).
Yousuf Hamad AlShaibani, director general of MBRSC, said: "Beginning to design two custom Soyuz MS-15 seats for AlMansoori and AlNeyadi is a new and important step in sending the first Arab and Emirati
astronaut to the ISS."
The educational outreach team of the UAE
Astronaut Programme in MBRSC alongside a team from NanoRacks LLC explained how to conduct scientific experiments at ISS in a microgravity environment, and the tools and equipment used in the mission.
Astronauts wear one of eleven spacesuits on the ISS, each of which cost $22 million!
This isn't the first time an
astronaut has misdialled from space.
MH: I did not want to take anything specifically from the

'The selection process covers three periods, and we will select both males and females,' said Yang Liwei, head of the China Manned Space Agency and the nation's first
