A gene on chromosome 11q25 that encodes an isobutyryl-CoA dehydrogenase that functions in valine catabolism, and which plays a role in transcriptional coactivation within the ARC complex.

Molecular pathology
Defects in ACAD8 cause isobutyryl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency.
