The genes conferring resistance to various antibiotics (SPT) for streptomycin, (aph2, nptII or neo) for kanamycin, (aphIV=hpt) for hygromycin, [acc(3)- I] for gentamycin, G418 (aph2) for geneticin (derivative of genetamycin), (aadA) for both spectinomycin and streptomycin, (dhfr) for methotrexate resistance (Irdani et al., 1998).
