ANGPTL6

ANGPTL6

A gene on chromosome 19p13.2 that encodes angiopoietin-like protein 6, which is thought to play roles in wound healing by promoting epidermal proliferation, remodelling and regeneration. It may promote chemotactic activity of endothelial cells and induce neovascularisation; it may also counteract dietary fat-induced obesity and accompanying insulin resistance by increasing energy expenditure.

In order to obtain a thorough understanding on DNA repair mechanism on cell-TNA interaction, important genes, namely, RAD50, DDB2, XRCC5, XRCC6, ATM, THP0, ANGPTL6, and MRE11A, were further profiled at mRNA expression level on epithelial HT29 cells compared to control surfaces, namely, plastic, glass, and TiP (Figure 4(b)).
Micro-RNA-128 (miRNA-128) down-regulation in glioblastoma targets ARP5 (ANGPTL6), Bmi-1 and E2F-3a, key regulators of brain cell proliferation.
It was proposed that suppression of expression of ANGPTL2 and increased expression of ANGPTL6 may represent a therapeutic target for treatment of obesity [21].
