ALG8

A gene on chromosome 11q14.1 that encodes an enzyme of the ALG6/ALG8 glucosyltransferase family, which catalyses the addition of the second glucose residue to the lipid-linked oligosaccharide precursor for N-linked glycosylation of proteins.

Molecular pathology
ALG8 is mutated in congenital disorder of glycosylation type Ih (CDGIh).
