ALG6

A gene on chromosome 1p31.3 that encodes an enzyme of the ALG6/ALG8 glucosyltransferase family, which catalyses the addition of the first glucose residue to the growing lipid-linked oligosaccharide precursor of N-linked glycosylation.

Molecular pathology
ALG6 is mutated in congenital disorder of glycosylation type Ic (CDGIc).
