ALDH3B1

A gene on chromosome 11q13 that encodes an aldehyde dehydrogenase that plays a major role in detoxifying aldehydes generated by alcohol metabolism and lipid peroxidation. The ALDH3B1 gene product is highly expressed in the liver and kidneys; its function is unknown.
