[kē′tō·ē′tē·ōkəlan′əlōn]
a metabolite of a sex hormone secreted by the testes and adrenal glands that may be measured in the urine to assess hormonal and adrenal functions. Normal amounts in the urine after 24-hour collection are 0.2 to 1 mg in men and 0.2 to 0.8 mg in women.
