RBL2(redirected from 130-kDa retinoblastoma-associated protein)
RBL2A gene on chromosome 16q12.2 that encodes a key regulator of entry into cell division, which is directly involved in heterochromatin formation by maintaining overall chromatin structure and that of constitutive heterochromatin by stabilising histone methylation. RBL2 recruits and targets histone methyltransferases SUV420H1 and SUV420H2, leading to epigenetic transcriptional repression; it is thought to be a tumour suppresor.
