zooglea/zoo·glea/ (zo″o-gle´ah) pl. zoogle´ae a colony of bacteria embedded in a gelatinous matrix.
zooglea(zō″ō-glē′ă) [″ + gloios, sticky]
A stage in development of certain organisms in which colonies of microbes are embedded in a gelatinous matrix.
