An indication of Marfan's syndrome in which the thumb and fifth finger overlap appreciably when the wrist is gripped with the opposite hand.

Rheumatology A finding in Pts with Marfan and other heritable connective tissue disorders characterized by thinned distal extremities; the WS is positive if the distal phalanges of the thumb and 5^th finger overlap when encircling the opposite wrist. See Marfan syndrome.
