visual response audiometry (VRA),
a technique for testing the hearing of older infants and children between the ages of 12 and 30 months. Sounds such as speech and tones are presented through loudspeakers. When the child looks toward the source of the sound, he or she is rewarded by seeing a toy on top of the speaker move or light up. See also conditioned orientation response.
