vermis /ver·mis/ (ver´mis) [L.] a wormlike structure, particularly the vermis cerebelli.
vermis cerebel´li  the median part of the cerebellum, between the two lateral hemispheres.

[vər′mis ser′ə·bel′ī]
Etymology: L, worm of cerebellum
the narrow median part of the cerebellum, between the two lateral hemispheres. The cranial or superior portion extends from the lingula to the folium vermis, and the inferior or caudal portion from the tuber vermis to the nodulus. Also called vermis of cerebellum.
