ventricular trigeminy  an arrhythmia consisting of the repetitive sequence of one ventricular premature complex followed by two normal beats.

1 a grouping in threes.
2 a cardiac arrhythmia characterized by the occurrence of three heartbeats in a repeating pattern: two normal beats coupled to an ectopic beat, or two ectopic beats coupled to a normal beat. trigeminal, adj.

A group of 3 beats, usually a sinus beat followed by 2 extrasystoles Etiology Digitalis toxicity, dizziness, caffeine. See Premature ventricular contraction.
