veno-occlusive disease of liver

acute or chronic, partial or complete, occlusion of the branches of the hepatic veins by endophlebitis and thrombosis, leading to centrilobular necrosis, fibrosis and ascites; occurs at a higher than normal prevalence in cheetahs and snow leopards.
