A. I personally will not encourage your friend to abort the pregnancy. Abortion has its place if there is medical or serious social indication. In that case that your friend's husband just lost his job, it is wise to encourage them to keep the baby, while also encourage both of them to have positive and optimistic spirit.

Although abortion will be safer if done earlier, I myself will say it is a "murder" of the fetus. Who will ever know that next week the husband will have a new job? Who knows that next month they can find a new job opportunity.
