Any of several chronic skin diseases of mammals caused by parasitic mites and characterized by skin lesions, itching, and loss of hair.

a cutaneous disease of domestic and wild animals caused by skin-burrowing mites. See also scabies.

a skin disease of domestic animals, caused by a number of genera of mites and described under those headings. See chorioptic mange, demodectic mange, notoedric mange, otodectic mange, psoroptic mange and sarcoptic mange.
