An organelle of locomotion in certain flagellate parasites consisting of a finlike extension of the cytoplasmic membrane with the flagellar sheath.

undulating membrane
a fold of the protozoa's cell membrane formed when the flagellum of the protozoa beats and pulls up the membrane along the full length of the parasite's body.
