Uncaria tomentosa; part used: root bark; uses: inflammation, rheumatism, gastric ulcers, tumors, dysentery, and birth control. Also popular in South American folk medicine for gastric ulcers, arthritis, and wound healing; precautions: pregnancy, lactation, autoimmune diseases, and tuberculosis. Also known as
cat's claw.
