ulnar /ul·nar/ (ul´ner) pertaining to the ulna or to the ulnar (medial) aspect of the arm as compared to the radial (lateral) aspect.
ulnar [ul′nər] Etymology: L, ulna, elbow pertaining to the long medial bone of the forearm. ulnar [ul´nar] pertaining to the ulna or to the ulnar (medial) aspect of the upper limb as compared to the radial (lateral) aspect.
ulnar pertaining to the ulna; the medial aspect of the upper forelimb, as opposed to the radial or lateral aspect. congenital lateral rotation of the ulnar seen in puppies from one to five months of age; they stand with the elbow flexed and the forearm markedly pronated. ulnar nerve block injection of a local anesthetic in the caudal aspect of the forelimb, proximal to the carpus, produces anesthesia on the anterolateral aspect of the metacarpus. ulnar nerve injury results in extension of the carpus, a 'dropped' carpus.
