pancytopenia /pan·cy·to·pe·nia/ (-sīt-ah-pe´ne-ah) abnormal depression of all the cellular elements of the blood.
pancytopenia [pan′sītəpē′nē·ə] Etymology: Gk, pan + kytos, cell, penia, poverty marked reduction in the number of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. See also anemia, aplasia, neutropenia. pancytopenic, adj. pancytopenia abnormal depression of all the cellular elements of the blood.
