an antihistamine.
indications It is prescribed in the treatment of rhinitis and hypersensitivity reactions of the skin.
contraindications Asthma, glaucoma, difficulty in emptying the bladder, concomitant administration of a monoamine oxidase inhibitor, or known hypersensitivity to this drug prohibits its use. It is not given to premature infants or newborns or to lactating mothers.
adverse effects Among the more serious adverse effects are sedation, tachycardia, and GI upset.
