prostaglandin analogues Drugs used in the treatment of open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. At specific dosages they lower the intraocular pressure (IOP), supposedly by increasing the outflow of aqueous humour via the uveoscleral pathway. Common agents include latanoprost, travoprost, bimatoprost (a synthetic prostamide structurally related to prostaglandin) and unoprostone isopropyl.
