1. having the shape of a four-sided plane, with two sides parallel and two diverging.
2. the bone in the distal row of carpal bones lying between the trapezium and capitate bones.

2. A small bone in the wrist that is situated near the base of the index finger and that articulates with the second metacarpal, trapezium, capitate, and scaphoid bones.
