amblyopia ex anop´sia  that resulting from long disuse.
color amblyopia  dimness of color vision due to toxic or other influences.
nocturnal amblyopia  abnormal dimness of vision at night.
nutritional amblyopia  scotomata due to poor nutrition; seen in alcoholics, the malnourished, and those with vitamin B12 deficiency or pernicious anemia.
tobacco amblyopia  nutritional a., toxic a.
toxic amblyopia  that due to poisoning, as from alcohol or tobacco.

toxic amblyopia,
partial loss of vision because of retrooptic bulbar neuritis resulting from poisoning with quinine, lead, wood alcohol, nicotine, arsenic, or certain other poisons.
